The twenty-third skull!
I had started on an entirely different skull for today, but I was sidetracked by life and since I had used a lot of medium on the bottom layers, it dried sooner than I would have liked and I’ll have to get back to it later. I didn’t really like how that one was turning out anyway, since I wasn’t having a very good time. On the plus side, I think I’m back in the groove, though I need to catch up so I will have a few saved up in case of setbacks!
This skull was based on the idea of smoke; I had seen some smoke-related skull art previously, and I liked how the smokey air effect worked back on skull 5 (as well as a portrait I did last year of Rachel from Blade Runner), so I thought I’d have some fun and experiment with that. This one didn’t take as long as some of the others since it was mostly me experimenting, but that’s okay since I need to catch up a bit 😉 I would like to try something like this on a larger scale, or maybe in multiple colors too, at some point.

Spooky Film: Today’s spooky film of the day is “The Addams Family” (and “Addams Family Values” isn’t bad either). This was, and still is, one of my favorite spooky films, but for reasons that are not spooky at all. I love that this family is off-the-wall weird, obviously all love the dark/ spooky, can’t connect or relate “normally” to “normal” people, but would do anything for (…and to? hehe) each other. And there’s a lot of humor… a lot of which is dark; which is just up my alley. 🙂
