November 2017 Newsletter

November Newsletter
Hello everyone!  The monthly newsletter is here!  Included in each monthly update is art that I’ve completed in the past month, links to videos that I’ve created (timelapses or instructional videos) this month, art that I’ve put up for sale and that which will be going up for sale shortly, a description of the next monthly raffle and how to enter (it’s at the bottom if you’re antsy!), and any other artsy news.

If you like to see my work as it comes out or as I’m working on it, I post almost-daily on Facebook, Minds, and Instagram, and my videos will also be posted on my Youtube and VidMe channels.  My original work is currently for sale on Etsy.

Thanks as always for subscribing and feel free to leave a comment or send me a message if you have any questions or just want to say something; I will do my best to answer.

Last Month’s Artwork:

In the last couple months, I’ve been working on a project to complete 50 paintings of skulls (for the Halloween-y season!) in 50 days!  I completed 49 by Halloween, with one painting left to go that got pushed aside by all the work I’ve been up to.  Since 49 pieces is a bit much to show in one post, I just wanted to let you know to visit my projects page if you’d like to see all the skull paintings in one place, and if you’d like more information on any of the paintings, you can visit here where I’ve been posting a little something about each one!

The original intent of the project was to auction them off on my website on Halloween, but due to technical difficulties, all the paintings ended up in my Etsy store!  On Halloween, they were on sale for a discounted price since I couldn’t set up the auction, but the remainder of the paintings are now back at my normal prices.

I also was able to work on two commissions last month, one based on a painting I had already done (but larger!) and another based on some ideas the customer had based on something they had seen me paint.  One even allowed me to experiment with using glow-in-the-dark powder in the paint!  Here are the commissioned works:

Last Month’s Videos:

Miraculously, I was able to create a video for all of my skull paintings except for the first one, so since that would be a LOT of videos to link, I’ll link the playlist on my Youtube channel here (though they’re also on my Vidme channel):

You can watch these as well as all of my previous videos on my YouTube or VidMe channels.

Artwork for Sale:

If you’re interested in buying any of my original pieces, they will often be available on my Etsy site a few weeks after they’ve been painted.  If there is a piece that catches your eye that has not yet been put up for sale (such as any of the artwork posted in “last month’s artwork” above), feel free to send me a message and I will be happy to let you know what the price will be and you can have the chance to claim the painting before I put it up for sale officially!  This month, alllll of the skull paintings were listed on Halloween, even if they aren’t dry yet! 🙂

Upcoming Raffle:

Every first Friday of every month, I will have a raffle, which you can enter to win something for free!  This month’s raffle will be on Friday, November 3rd.  Let me know which is your favorite flower art for a chance to win one!  All you need to do to enter is to comment or send me a message on any of my social media posts, on my website, or directly to my email address (scenesbycolleen@gmail.com).  I will check everything before deciding the winner or winners on Saturday.  Good luck and thanks for watching! 🙂
