June 2019 Newsletter

June Newsletter
Hello everyone!  The monthly newsletter is here!  Included in each monthly update is art that I’ve completed in the past month, links to videos that I’ve created (timelapses or instructional videos) this month, art that I’ve put up for sale and that which will be going up for sale shortly, a description of the next monthly raffle and how to enter (it’s at the bottom if you’re antsy!), and any other artsy news.

If you like to see my work as it comes out or as I’m working on it, I post almost-daily on Facebook, Minds, Instagram, and Gab, and my videos will also be posted on my Youtube channel.  My original work is currently for sale on Etsy.

Thanks as always for subscribing and feel free to leave a comment or send me a message if you have any questions or just want to say something; I will do my best to answer.

June Plans:

This month’s theme is “Ships & Boats,” and I have a few fun ideas (maybe some pirates and vikings?), but we’ll see what I get around to.  Either way I think it’ll be a fun month 😀

Last Month:

Outer Space paintings for my birthday month!  Some are a little fantastical/ out of my imagination, and some are based on real celestial objects.  I also made a TON of mini paintings too 😀

Minis:

I was also able to complete some commissions during this time (and I have a lot more to do – thank you very much to all who have asked me to paint something specially for them!)

Annnnd I have some new blocks for Art-o-mat that I finished (the space ones were actually completed in April but I realized that I never posted them here, so here they are)!

Videos:

I was able to make the first video that I’ve made in a long time of one of the paintings above – one in my usual short-timelapse version, and one in a slightly longer timelapsed version for those who’d like to see what’s going on in a little more detail:

Oil Painting Timelapse of NGC 602 – (short version or long version)

I’d like to start making a few more videos again, but it really slows me down since I need to take video footage in about 10-minute increments and these paintings often take hours (longer when I need to keep stopping, especially if I need to copy a full video card over to my computer… etc).  I’ll have to see if I can find an easier way to do these without impeding my progress.

Artwork for Sale:

If you’re interested in buying any of my original pieces, they will often be available on my Etsy site in a week or two after they’ve been painted – I post new items every Thursday.  If there is a piece that catches your eye that has not yet been put up for sale (such as some of the artwork posted in “last month’s artwork” above), feel free to send me a message and I will be happy to let you know what the price will be and you can have the chance to reserve or claim the painting before I put it up for sale officially!  As of today (June 6th), all of the space paintings have been listed.  Some were reserved (and some already bought), but if you reeeeeally liked something that you can’t get – let me know and I will probably be willing to make you one like it 🙂

Upcoming Raffle:

Every first Friday of every month, I will have a raffle, which you can enter to win something for free!  This month’s raffle will be on Friday, June 7th for magnets made from my art 🙂   All you need to do to enter is to comment on which are your top two favorites – or send me a message on any of my social media posts, on my website, or directly to my email address (scenesbycolleen@gmail.com).  I will check everything before deciding the winner on Saturday.  Good luck and thanks for watching! 🙂
