Did you find me because you’ve seen or picked up one of my mini Art-o-mat blocks, or perhaps have seen one of my 50 skull paintings online? If so, then you’ve stumbled upon the right page to see the project details! This is my landing page for my bigger projects, so if you’re looking for news on one of these, I’ll be updating this page regularly while each project is ongoing, which is usually more often than my news updates (which are monthly unless I have major announcements). Thanks for visiting, and as always, feel free to say hello!
50 Skulls Project
From September 10th to October 30th (2017), I will be painting one oil painting every day of a skull! On October 31st, I plan to auction them all off on here on my website. Update: due to technical difficulties, the skull auction will now be a skull sale for ONE DAY only (Halloween) on my Etsy site! Skull paintings will not be listed until then! If you’re on Facebook, you can participate in the 50-skull-sale Halloween event, where I’ll be posting pictures and talking with people all day, so feel free to stop on by!
UPDATE: SKULL SALE IS LIVE ON ETSY!
During the project, I’ll be updating this gallery as well as posting every day here about each painting. I’ll also be updating every day on social media with my progress, pictures, and timelapse videos. Since I have a full-time job and this is a pretty big endeavor for me, I welcome any advice, criticism, and especially encouragement. My long-term goal is to make art my main career, so sacrificing an even larger part of my “free time” to stepping up my learning and creating art is another piece of that end goal.
Here are the skull paintings I’ve completed so far:
Since August 2016, I’ve been painting tiny blocks for a company called Art-o-mat, which takes old cigarette machines and refurbishes them so that they vend art instead! My little paintings are one of many types of art vended through their machines by many talented artists. I encourage everyone to visit their page, find one of their awesome vending machines (many of which are a piece of art themselves), or even join in on the fun by making your own art for Art-o-Mat!
If you have “kerplunked” one of my mini blocks, I’d love to hear which one you got and where you got it, since these vending machines are all over the country (and some in other countries too!). I’d always be happy if you send me a message or contact me on social media about your little block. Also feel free to snap a picture with your block if you like – just let me know if you’d mind if I share your picture or your first name.
Here are some of the blocks I’ve painted so far – I’ll do my best to update these regularly.
