The twelfth skull!

Skull 12
After the last skull (sabertooth tiger), I thought I’d paint a regular housecat skull. Cat skulls are weird – giant-looking eye sockets, everything seems out of position… I thought making it psychedelic-green would be appropriate. One of the references I was working from showed a bit of reflection of the skull on glass, so I also decided to include that at the end and I think it adds to the bit of spooky weirdness of the cat skull. I own two cats, our family had three when I was very young, and in general I just love cats, PLUS I love the color green, so this one feels a little more personal even though it’s just a skull. Enjoy, and as always, let me know your thoughts on the skull! 🙂

Spooky Film: Today’s spooky film of the day is “Hocus Pocus,” because tonight feels a little nostalgic. “Hocus Pocus” was my favorite movie to watch on Halloween when I was a kid – it’s an adorable, family-friendly “spooky” movie and I recommend it to kids or nostalgic adults 😉
