The thirteenth skull!

I had to do *something* a little spookier for the 13th skull, of course! This one was inspired by tattoo art. I’ve seen a few tattoo artists’ designs of skull-spiders and I thought I’d try painting one of my own. I wanted to have a shadow on the “ground” to create the illusion of it being more 3D as well. As I neared the end of this painting, I thought it would be cool to have spiderwebbing as well, but I didn’t want to make it white/clear/gray, so I thought I’d change it up and make it gold! I think that the gold really makes the painting tell a little story – why does this spider spin golden thread? – or maybe it isn’t spider silk? – who knows!

Spooky Film: Today’s spooky film of the day is “V/H/S.” This movie has a few spooky vignettes where people watch VHS tapes that appear to be snuff films, but… they’re of the spooky variety. Mysterious things also happen to the viewers of the movies 😉 There are a few other “VHS” movies, too, but not as interesting as the first one. Enjoy your spooks 😀
