The thirty-eighth skull!
Skull 38

Triceratops! Honestly, I feel like the crest should be bigger, but my reference was at an angle such that the snout was really the biggest feature and you couldn’t see that much of the crest. Unfortunately, I don’t think I quite captured that same angle, so I kept trying to make the crest a little bigger (and, whoops, can’t get bigger than the canvas; perhaps I should have started my sketch a little smaller, haha!).
I tried a technique of layering on paint that’s similar to something I’ve done before (but slightly different), but I don’t think I really like the result. It was meant to be a way to make it look textured up close by not blending brushstrokes much, giving it a bit more of an abstract feel, but still getting that variation in shade and color. Actually, I’d say it… “sortof” worked, but perhaps I just need a bit more practice at that method, or need to change it up a bit to feel comfortable.

Spooky Film: Today’s spooky film of the day is “Jurassic Park.” I don’t think this film was that scary to ME, even though I watched it as a kid, but there were a few bits (and the jump-scares of course) that even got me drawn in so much that it felt spooky and still “real,” and that’s really impressive for a movie about dinosaurs 😉
