November Newsletter
Hello everyone!  The monthly newsletter is here!  Included in each monthly update is art that I’ve completed in the past month, links to videos that I’ve created (timelapses or instructional videos) this month, art that I’ve put up for sale and that which will be going up for sale shortly, a description of the next monthly raffle and how to enter (it’s at the bottom if you’re antsy!), and any other artsy news.

If you like to see my work as it comes out or as I’m working on it, I post almost-daily on Facebook, Minds, Instagram, and Gab, and my videos will also be posted on my Youtube channel.  My original work is currently for sale on Etsy.

November Plans:

Third time’s the charm – I’m painting spacescapes again this month!  If you have awesome real or fantastical pictures of space that you’d like to see me paint, send them to me and I’ll see what I can do!  I’m hoping to paint more on larger canvases (than usual) this month too, because I think that outer space is so much more impressive on a large scale and I think I have a few ideas that would look great – as long as I have the time.

Last Month’s Artwork:

Fairies!  Not as many as I would have liked, but painting people is a little tougher for me and I’m definitely still getting used to it.  I may revisit this theme again sometime to improve my people-painting skills 😀

I also worked on a few commissions (some that I can’t show yet), another surprise for November, and one set of blocks for Art-o-mat!  Here are the spooky skull Art-o-mat blocks:

Last Month’s Videos:

My full videos (and a few real-time clips!) are available on YouTube and Facebook, and short clips of the full videos and real-time videos are also available on Instagram.  Grrr, no videos on fairies this month, which was particularly annoying to me after I had painted one or two that I really would have liked to see myself afterwards how I went about it (and someone asked for a tutorial on how I painted one!).  Taking video takes more time/ moving about and the lighting setup that I have is a little wonky for both painting and videotaping.  I know that those are pretty lame excuses, so I’ll try to do better next month 🙂

Artwork for Sale:

If you’re interested in buying any of my original pieces, they will often be available on my Etsy site a few weeks after they’ve been painted – I will now be posting new items every Thursday.  If there is a piece that catches your eye that has not yet been put up for sale (such as any of the artwork posted in “last month’s artwork” above), feel free to send me a message and I will be happy to let you know what the price will be and you can have the chance to claim the painting before I put it up for sale officially!  The first few paintings from last month are already listed, there will be more listed this Thursday, and a few have been claimed!

Art and Craft Shows:

I’m also participating in THREE holiday art/craft shows this month if anyone is nearby and would like to come see me and my art in person!

Upcoming Raffle:

Every first Friday of every month, I will have a raffle, which you can enter to win something for free!  This month’s raffle will be on Friday, November 2nd for this 18×18″ fantasy castle painting!  I recently found out that this painting has a small flaw near the top – a small hole in the canvas – and I thought that someone would like to give it a good home despite this flaw, so it’s this month’s raffle prize.  If you’d like a chance to win this painting, let me know your favorite Thanksgiving dish!  Or if you don’t really celebrate Thanksgiving, you can just suggest a nice dish that I should make for Thanksgiving! 🙂  All you need to do to enter is to comment or send me a message on any of my social media posts, on my website, or directly to my email address (scenesbycolleen@gmail.com).  I will check everything before deciding the winner on Saturday.  Good luck and thanks for watching! 🙂
