March 2019 Newsletter

March Newsletter
Hello everyone!  The monthly newsletter is here!  Included in each monthly update is art that I’ve completed in the past month, links to videos that I’ve created (timelapses or instructional videos) this month, art that I’ve put up for sale and that which will be going up for sale shortly, a description of the next monthly raffle and how to enter (it’s at the bottom if you’re antsy!), and any other artsy news.

If you like to see my work as it comes out or as I’m working on it, I post almost-daily on Facebook, Minds, Instagram, and Gab, and my videos will also be posted on my Youtube channel.  My original work is currently for sale on Etsy.

Thanks as always for subscribing and feel free to leave a comment or send me a message if you have any questions or just want to say something; I will do my best to answer.

March Plans:

This month will be very exciting but a little slow – because I’m moving to New Hampshire to begin working on art FULL-TIME!  It’s a scary prospect, I know, but I think it’s time.  Since I won’t have a lot of time in March because of this move (plus the art I do make will need to dry, so I can’t have a lot of large art drying during this time), my “theme” for this month will be “March Minis” – I will be painting a bunch of mini paintings of whatever comes into my head.  Once I’ve moved in later in the month, I may get around to larger paintings, but in the meantime, minis!

Last Month’s Artwork:

February’s theme was “Mountains,” and here’s what I came up with:

I also painted a few commissioned pieces – often based on or almost exactly matching previous paintings, so they may look familiar!  By the way, once I move and am settled in, I expect to have even more time for commissioned pieces 🙂

Artwork for Sale:

If you’re interested in buying any of my original pieces, they will often be available on my Etsy site in a week or two after they’ve been painted – I will now be posting new items every Thursday.  If there is a piece that catches your eye that has not yet been put up for sale (such as some of the artwork posted in “last month’s artwork” above), feel free to send me a message and I will be happy to let you know what the price will be and you can have the chance to reserve or claim the painting before I put it up for sale officially!  Most paintings from last month have already been listed – and a bunch of them have already been sold or reserved!!!

Note that during my move this month, my Etsy shop will be CLOSED for about a week or two while I get things transferred to the new place and set up shop again.  I promise that everything will be back up as soon as things are back on track, but feel free to message me even when the shop is temporarily closed if you have questions or would like to reserve something.

Upcoming Raffle:

Every first Friday of every month, I will have a raffle, which you can enter to win something for free!  This month’s raffle will be on Friday, March 1st for a huge 18×24″ painting!!!  All you need to do to enter is to comment on which is your favorite or send me a message on any of my social media posts, on my website, or directly to my email address (scenesbycolleen@gmail.com).  I will check everything before deciding the winner on Saturday.  Good luck and thanks for watching! 🙂
